Partial Fire Ban in effect- Effective Jul 30, 2025

🚨 FIRE BAN UPDATE – PARTIAL FIRE BAN IN EFFECT 🚨
The RM of Mervin is moving from a Full Fire Ban to a Partial Fire Ban, effective immediately.
 
🔶 What does a Partial Fire Ban mean?
A Partial Ban may be declared when conditions present a moderate fire risk. While some activities are now permitted, caution is still required.
 
🚫 Still Prohibited:
• All open burning (Ex. Brushpiles)
• Use of incinerators
• Fireworks
 
✅ Permitted (with supervision and safety):
• CSA or UL approved appliances (e.g., propane BBQs)
• Portable propane fire pits
• Campfires in contained fire pits or designated campground fire rings
 
🏍 Off-Road Vehicle Use:
Recreational ATV/UTV/dirt bike use is not permitted, except within designated hamlets and only for essential transportation, provided:
a) You stay on established roadways or driveways
b) No travel occurs through grassed or vegetated areas
c) You follow all provincial and municipal traffic rules
 
🌾 Agricultural or Commercial Use:
ATVs/UTVs may be used only if essential to operations, with a risk assessment done beforehand and fire suppression equipment on hand.
