Collaboration Heritage and Community Safety

Land-use decisions often cross municipal boundaries and involve neighbouring municipalities, First Nations and Métis communities, provincial agencies, emergency services and other partners. The proposed OCP adds clearer direction for regional cooperation, relationships with Indigenous communities, archaeological and heritage review, hazardous lands, wildfire planning and emergency access. Better coordination can identify concerns earlier and support safer, more informed decisions. The Cultural and Heritage Resources Map is a screening tool; it does not replace site-specific review or provincial requirements.
