Where Lakeshore Growth Should Occur

The proposed OCP would discourage more continuous, linear development directly along the Turtle Lake shoreline. It would instead favour growth within established areas and suitable off-lake, clustered or multi-tiered locations where access and servicing can be planned more effectively. Brightsand Lake may require a different approach, including consideration of a distinct single-row development pattern. These policies are intended to reduce shoreline pressure and avoid repeating development patterns that are difficult to service. What pattern of lakeshore growth should guide the RM over the next 15 to 20 years?
